Happy Birthday to me...!
Birthdays come & go but this one was a keeper. The 29th marked the 51st! And I celebrated it just the way I wanted...no fuss at work, with just the right amount of fan-fare & some really nice treats & surprises. I chose how I wanted to celebrate it this year & who I wanted to share it with & that made all the difference. It was a gift that I gave to myself. I'm FLYing! 'Finally Loving Yourself". Yes, indeedie, that made all the difference.

Life is good...
Regardless of what's wrong in the world, in our families, in our hearts...LIFE IS GOOD! The reason for this is that God exists everywhere & where there is God, there is good.
Oh, & by the way... If I should happen to forget, please do me a favor & hit me in the head with a 2 x 4.
THANKS!

Date night at Par 3
Hubby & I just returned from another golf date at our favorite course, Dick Kidd's Par 3. We started off with a quick warm-up hitting a bucket of balls each & then set out for the great unknown. A group of 8 let us go ahead of them which made me extremely nervous. Not only were they standing there watching every move but one of the gals happened to say, "Hey, let's WATCH her!" The beads of perspiration took form & I aimed, hit & the ball rolled ever so gracefully up the fairway & a little to the right. Try as I may I didn't do much better the second time around & sent the ball rolling along again. My third try was the worse of all. Not only did I pass the green, but I LOST the stupid ball under the fence, of all places. ARGH!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This was the first time I ever lost a ball so it was especially sad plus it was one of my new 'pink' Intech titaniums, the ones with the new fluid-metal technology for optimum distance, exceptional control, softer feel & cut-proof durability. ARGH!!! I wanted to climb the fence to go find it but hubby wouldn't allow this inappropriate behavior plus the group of 8 were still looking on...so I did the next best thing. I griped about losing my ball for the next 2 holes until I was reminded that this was REALLY starting to get annoying...so I stopped.
I got a bogie in the 4th hole & had an awesome putt in the 8th. The ball was hanging by a hair on the edge of the cup. I tried jumping on the green to make it go in but no luck. Hubby had a really powerful hit on the 8th hole & made a nice dent in the green. Oops! Sorry about that Dick! The final score was 52-41. Yeah! I scored the most points!!!
Afterwards we headed to Ritas for some quality after golfing treats. I had a 'melon twist' Gelati which is out of this universe! And you might want to check out the Mistos. We brought one home for Mike (for cleaning up the kitchen) & hubby had a chocolate custard.
Looking forward to another round...FOUR!!! Watch out, boys! Your Momma has found her thing!!!

'Merlot'
I need to stop watching those home improvement shows. Yesterday hubby & I were out at Lowe's looking around at stuff. So we stopped to look at paint samples. Our bedroom is well overdue for a make-over & paint job.
We were looking at the deep burgandy shades when I spotted one that I really liked. I read the name on the sample only I mispronounced it: mer lot. He corrected me & we both cracked up. Then I got another idea...I said, "Hey! We could do the walls in a faux finish". SMACK! Again we both cracked up!
I guess you had to be there...but we both had a good laugh.

To gel or not to gel...
I've been trying a new look this week...doing something a little different with my hair. I apply a little gel for that sassy wet look.
Yesterday hubby asked me what happened to my hair...did I forget to comb it or what??? Well, he told me it looked like I was sweating alot. I told him I was going for the gel look. His advise was that I needed to lose a few years (something like 20 or so) & a few pounds (we won't even go there...) to go with my new look.
So, the question of the day is... To gel or not to gel? What do you think? Today I skipped the gel...still deciding!
